B. June 29, 1931 D. August 14, 2004 Jazz enthusiast Richard Bowen had been an avid jazz record collector all his life. When he relocated from Maine to Oxford, MA he connected with his good friend Paul Holmberg, another jazz lover and recording engineer. Richard and Paul often travelled together for jazz concerts, keeping up a busy schedule for a number of years. They were attracted to festivals in Toronto, California, Florida and throughout New England. Both Richard and Paul enjoyed recording concerts in various venues using professional quality recording equipment (always with the permission of the artists). Through the generous contribution of Paul Holmberg, the Jazz History Database is able to offer these many audio recordings by Richard Bowen, all done live and on location.
